Virtueel Platforms best practices

Today its national ribbon day (lintjesdag) - the day that the queen beatrix of the Netherlands gives out ribbons to all the people she thinks are worthy to be part of her army. I did not get a ribbon from here, but I was honored to receive a ribbon from Virtueel Platform, an institute in the Netherlands that is doing research into the best examples of e-culture in the Netherlands for my Glitch Studies Manifesto. I think it looks pretty good on me.

In the past ten years a proliferation of visual work that embraces the style of digital error has crept into mainstream advertising and popular culture. Recent and ongoing events such as GLI.TC/H in Chicago and Bent Festival in New York City have helped to establish an international dialogue for artists working in this digital underground. As more institutions begin to recognize glitch as an art form, and more people begin to theorize its relevance, we must ask where the genre is heading and where it has been.

//Observatori Valencia (and some more dates)

This year the theme of Observatori Valencia, a 22 year old media art festival in Spain, is ::::::::::POR ERROR: EL ACCIDENTE COMO MOTOR ARTÍSTICO::::::::::::::::. The festival asked me if they could use my photo as their poster image.
Its kind of funny, to have your face as the image of an intire festival website and poster workout - I am honored, but really not used to see it in a context like that.
